Meet Your Teachers
Hi, I’m Stephanie Parent
Director - Lead Trainer
E-RYT200 - RYT500 - YACEP
Stephanie was initially drawn to yoga for its physical benefits – but it didn’t take long before she started noticing a positive effect on her mind and body as well. With each practice, she felt her stress and tension melt away. Her mind became clearer and more stable. It was then that she realized that yoga was not just a sport, it was a lifestyle.
Having worked in the fashion industry for 10 years, Stephanie understood the struggle and stress inherent to the corporate grind – and having experienced the transformative benefits of yoga, she felt a profound desire to share them with others. Her first stop was Rishikesh, India, where she completed a 500-hour teacher training program. During this training course, she discovered yoga therapy, and instantly knew that this was her calling. She then acquired the necessary certifications to officially become a Yoga Therapist.
Upon her return to Canada, she combined her teaching skills and therapeutic approach and founded Yoga Works. She led Yoga Works successfully for 5 years, offering private yoga workshops tailored to people’s specific needs, experience level, and injuries. Teaching in studios, health clinics and corporations she also led yoga retreats in Bali, Costa Rica and Mexico. She infuses her teaching with classic yogic philosophy, giving students the tools they need to practice on their own in a safe and well-informed way.
After a few years of leading yoga teacher trainings as a 200h lead trainer in Bali, the island is now home to her, her husband and their daughter. She continues her journey as the Director and Lead Trainer of Inner Yoga Training in Ubud, Bali. Following her path and accomplishing her mission as a teacher, student and mother.
Hi, I’m Sheryl Sharaswhaty
Vinyasa Teacher
E-RYT200
Originally from Bogor in East Java, Indonesia, Sheryl moved to Bali in 2012. There she started practicing yoga and rediscovered the meditation and mantras her Indian grandfather had taught her when she was young.
Since then, her practice has continued to evolve and she has completed several yoga teacher trainings across different styles. She started assisting teachers in yoga trainings and has been teaching both private and group classes since 2015 before becoming a main teacher herself in yoga teacher trainings in 2019.
Sheryl particularly loves vinyasa yoga and connecting with people. She continues to value the space that yoga creates to be present, be in stillness and dive deep into the mind and breath.
Hi, I’m Shivananda
Yoga Philosophy & Ayurveda
DC Leiro, or Shivananda as we affectionally call him, started studying Vedic texts as a young teenager in Norway. Driven by a deeper thirst for Indian philosophy and yoga, he moved to the United States in his early twenties to study Ayurveda with Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute. He has been pursuing his path of philosophy, Ayurveda and Vedic studies ever since. Shivananda bridges his western upbringing and the teachings of Indian philosophy, to offer a unique approach to deliver sometimes complex and ancient teachings in an accessible manner that is applicable to modern day life.
He always leaves students wanting more knowledge!
Hi, I’m Menik Suyani
Anatomy & Physiology
As a Balinese woman who was born and raised in Bali, Menik had the privilege of immersing herself in the beautiful and spirit-filled island where bhakti yoga (devotional yoga), meditation, and daily offerings are a natural integral part of her life.
She officially enrolled in her first yoga class in January 2016 to bring balance and self-love to her long hours working as a medical doctor in a hospital. Since then, yoga has become an important part of her life and is part of her regular morning practice.
Menik’s involvement in many yoga teacher trainings in Bali has been a life changing journey which has given her the opportunity to grow spiritually. Her passion is to share her wisdom of yoga and anatomy in yoga teacher trainings and she is grateful to have the opportunity to share the combination of western medicine and the ancient wisdom of yoga.
